Taipei, January 2025 — In a move to embrace the era of remote work, DE International (formerly Butterfly Art) has signed a talent development agreement with Hong Kong-based Wind Global, launching a groundbreaking program that allows Taiwanese university students and graduates in art and design to participate in virtual overseas internships without leaving Taiwan. Targeting individuals aged 22-35 with advanced English proficiency, this initiative provides a unique opportunity to apply artistic and design expertise in a global professional environment.

Selection and Internship Process

Participants will undergo a two-stage selection process:

  1. Initial Review: Evaluation of submitted materials, including portfolios and resumes.

  2. Final Interview: Interviews with participating companies, which are selected from a network of startups led by Forbes 30 Under 30 honorees and organizations in countries such as the USA, India, the UK, Singapore, Malaysia, France, Germany, the Netherlands, and more.

Successful applicants will join talented creators worldwide for a short-term remote internship. During this 90-hour training program, they will contribute to real-world projects, from UI/UX design to branding, packaging, and illustration. Selected works may even be featured in the host companies’ products, adding valuable experience to participants' portfolios.

Addressing Industry Challenges

According to data from 104 Job Bank, the annual salary for graduates in Taiwan’s art and design fields is significantly lower than in other industries, with disproportionate working hours and intense competition. Creativity, while essential, is often challenging to quantify in professional settings. The "Future Art & Design Star" program aims to address these gaps by offering participants a platform to develop practical skills, enhance their employability, and align their creative ambitions with tangible career goals.

Voices from the Leaders

Ku ChiChun, founder of DE International, shared, “The most significant challenge lies in breaking out of your comfort zone. For art and design talents to be seen, they must seize every opportunity to turn ideas into reality. This program is not just a short-term initiative; we aim to grow it, inviting more graduates each year to contribute and witness how their efforts can change the world.”

Mai Wing-Yan, founder of Wind Global, added, “Our mission is to nurture the next generation of youth leaders through quality career education and virtual overseas internships. As a pioneer in this field, we have collaborated with over 170 companies from 60+ countries, benefiting more than 5,000 young people globally. We are excited to partner with DE International to empower Taiwan’s talented artists and designers to realize their dreams.”

Diverse Opportunities in Art and Design

This program caters to a broad range of creative professions, including UI/UX design, graphic design, illustration, packaging, branding, and more. Participants will gain invaluable overseas training experience at a minimal cost while expanding their professional network and portfolio with real-world applications of their work.
